Yoga For Skiers

Spring Your Body Back!

Join Laura Stevenson on March 11th for a total body renewing workout. Maybe you're getting that last workout in before your Spring Break beach vacation, or just need a new workout to get your motivated again. This total body workout will incorporate your traditional Pilates exercises, but will focus more on floor barre work, which delivers the fastest, most effective way to change your entire body. You will challenge your body's balance, strength and flexibility. The entire class is set to fun, motivating music, so there really is never a dull moment. And with a strategic muscle fatigue to stretch ratio, your body will never feel longer and leaner.

In this first session with Tim you will locate your locks and drop into your breath to free your practice. Guruji says: “the Ashtanga practice is a breathing exercise – the rest is just bending!”. You will establish yourself firmly in the foundations of breath with a clear physical understanding of the use of the bandhas/body locks. You will learn essential tools to deal with anxiety and stress, simple pranayama to help your body open, your mind to settle into one-pointed focus and to free your body. The secrets of deep backbends are available to you through the integration of sound anatomical principles, healthy alignment techniques and intensely fun stretches. The dynamic movement mechanics of bending your spine are the key to limitless flows of energy and in this class you will begin to explore you natural potential to for deep backbends with safety, support and enthusiasm.

Arm balances for everyone
Break a sweat while learning to safely balance on your hands, have fun while challenging yourself and gain access to your own inner strength. The magic of the arm balance is demystified and made approachable so that every practitioner who is not afraid to put in the work can feel the beauty of flight.
When done correctly arm balances can build self-esteem, increase energy flow and heal old injuries. Every student will leave with proven techniques to safely build the structural support necessary for stability in all strength based postures.
