Vinyasa Vinyasa Flow is a fluid and active style of yoga, emphasized by the linking of breath and movement. All-levels are welcome. Expect to experience a range of postures (standing, seated, inverted, prone and supine), surya namaskar (sun salutations), pranayama (breath practices) and a closing relaxation (savasana). Structural Yoga Structural Yoga aims to teach you about your body and how it relates to yoga poses. Inspired heavily by the work of BKS Iyengar, this class moves at a slower pace (but you may find yourself working harder than you ever have before!). With ample individualized instruction, Structural Yoga is your chance to ask questions about poses that are challenging for you and work on more intricate poses such as inversions, complex seated poses and deep backbends. Come with an open mind and a sense of attention. Vinyasa Basics Vinyasa Yoga is a fluid and active style of yoga, emphasized by the linking of breath and movement. This class focuses on the alignment principles of basic Vinyasa yoga postures and sequences. You can expect variations of sun salutations (a connected series of postures linked to breath), standing, balance, and seated poses as well as attention to breath work. This class is offered in a safe and small group environment and moves at a slow to moderate pace. It is appropriate for beginners as well as for the seasoned practitioner who wants to refine and master the fundamentals. Yin Yoga In Yin Yoga floor postures are held passively for several minutes in order to target the deep layers of connective tissue, including ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascia networks. These classes will help to increase circulation, improve flexibility, restore the natural mobility of the joints, and stimulate the meridian system bringing balance to the organs. This quiet and still practice will calm your mind for deep relaxation and meditation. All levels welcome. Slow Flow Restorative In Slow Flow Restorative combines elements of Vinyasa and Restorative Yoga in order to unlock and release tension, and relax and harmonize the body and mind. Class begins with a slow, meditative flow to help you find space between poses, while still retaining the gentle rhythm of breath and movement, and closes with gentle stretching and nurturing, supported postures that ease the entire system into relaxation and balance. This class is perfect for beginners and a great complement for more experienced practitioners. Props are used to support the body in conscious rest and should be accessible during the practice. Some helpful props in restorative yoga are 1-2 bolsters (pillows) 1-2 blankets, 2 yoga blocks, a yoga strap (or scarf/belt). Roll and Restore This class includes a combination of slow flow yoga and Yoga Tune Up® Therapy Balls to help improve mobility and stability, prevent injuries, and alleviate pain. You will use the balls to experience the freedom of letting go of deeply held tension in the body's tissues with simple kneading, rolling and breathing techniques. You will then move through a slow flow yoga sequence to further release tension in the body and build stability in the surrounding muscles. Leave feeling grounded and restored and with a new knowledge of the body and self-care.. Kundalini Yoga Kundalini Yoga includes all elements of the ancient teachings of yoga: Asana (postures), Pranayama (breathing techniques), Mantra (sound), Mudra (hand positions), and Meditation. These aspects are combined into series of exercises called Kriyas. Some Kriyas are dynamic and energetic while others are slow and meditative. Kundalini Yoga develops flexibility, tones muscles and strengthens the nervous, glandular, and immune systems. It increases mental energy and gives you a deep inner calm, heightened awareness and mental clarity. All levels welcome, no prior experience required. Ashtanga In this class the teacher guides the group through the sequence of the Primary Series, or part of the series. This class emphasizes traditional count, technique (breath and drishti/gaze point) and alignment proper to the Ashtanga Yoga Method. This energetic class is suitable for students of all-levels and no prior yoga experience is required.
